Appearance:

Snowball Shrimp have a translucent white to pale milky coloration. Females are especially eye-catching when berried, carrying round white eggs that resemble tiny snowballs—giving them their name.

Tank Requirements:

• Tank Size: 5+ gallons
• Temperature: 65–78°F
• pH: 6.5–7.8
• Water: Stable and well-established

Diet:

• Biofilm, algae, and detritus
• Supplement with shrimp pellets, algae wafers, and blanched vegetables

Behavior & Compatibility:

• Very peaceful and beginner-friendly
• Best kept in groups (6+)
• Safe with small, non-aggressive fish
• Can be mixed with other Neocaridina (may result in wild-type offspring over time)

Breeding:

• Very easy to breed in freshwater
• Females regularly carry eggs
• Babies hatch as miniature shrimp and grow quickly

• Provide moss and hiding spots for shrimplets
• Use sponge filters to protect babies
• Avoid copper and sudden water changes
