Appearance:

Named for their bright red “nose,” these shrimp have a mostly transparent body with a distinct red rostrum (nose). They stand out nicely in planted aquariums.

Tank Requirements:

• Tank Size: 10+ gallons
• Temperature: 72–82°F
• pH: 6.5–7.5
• Water: Clean, well-oxygenated with gentle flow

Diet:

• Excellent algae eaters (film algae, soft algae)
• Supplement with algae wafers, blanched veggies, and shrimp food

Behavior & Compatibility:

• Very peaceful and active swimmers
• Best kept in groups (5+)
• Safe with small, non-aggressive fish (tetras, rasboras, etc.)

Breeding:

• Difficult in freshwater
• Larvae require brackish water to survive, so they typically won’t reproduce in standard freshwater tanks

• They are strong swimmers—use a lid to prevent jumping
• Prefer stable water conditions (sensitive to sudden changes)
• Great for planted tanks where they can graze all day

For the safety of the animals, we do not ship aquatic life on Thursday and Friday. We do not want live aquatic animals sitting in USPS warehouse over the weekend. Thank you for your understanding.

Any orders placed before 12:00 PM on Tuesday will be shipped out that same week. orders placed after 12:00 PM on Tuesday will now be processed the following week

Guaranteed to arrive alive you have one hour of delivery to report any death. You must take a picture while the fish is dead in the bag before it’s opened.
