Scientific Name: Metriaclima estherae

Red Zebra Cichlid (Maylandia estherae) is a popular African cichlid from Lake Malawi known for its bright orange to reddish coloration and active personality. This mbuna species is hardy and highly sought after for African cichlid aquariums.

 

They thrive in rocky aquariums with plenty of hiding places to establish territories. Red Zebra Cichlids are best kept with other Malawi cichlids and require strong filtration and stable water conditions.

Temperature: 76–82°F

pH: 7.5–8.6

Diet: Cichlid pellets, spirulina flakes, vegetable-based foods

Temperament: Semi-aggressive

Max Size: About 5 inches

Tank Size: 40 gallons or larger

We ship on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday via USPS Priority Mail. Once we get your order, we will ship it within 1 to 5 business days.
