Overview:

A striking semi-terrestrial crab with a deep red body and bright yellow eyes. Best kept in a paludarium with both land and shallow water.

Care Level: Moderate

Temperament: Semi-aggressive (territorial)

Size: 2–2.5 inches

Lifespan: 2–3 years

Tank Requirements:

Minimum 10 gallons for a small group

Paludarium setup (70–80% land, 20–30% shallow water)

High humidity (70–90%)

Plenty of hiding spots (moss, caves, leaf litter)

Secure lid—they climb very well

Water Parameters:

Temperature: 72–82°F

pH: 6.5–7.5

Use dechlorinated freshwater (shallow area only)

Diet:

Omnivore—pellets, algae wafers, fruits, vegetables, insects, frozen foods

Needs calcium (cuttlebone or calcium supplements)

Tank Mates:

Best kept species-only

May fight or prey on tank mates

Notes:

Primarily land-dwelling—will drown in deep water

Molts regularly—needs hiding places during this time

More active at night

Guaranteed to arrive alive you have one hour of delivery to report any death. You must take a picture while the fish is dead in the bag before it’s opened.
