Kyathit Danio (Danio kyathit)

The Kyathit Danio, sometimes called the Orange-Finned Danio, is an energetic freshwater fish from Myanmar. This species is closely related to Zebra Danio (Danio rerio) but is known for its unique spotted or striped pattern and bright orange fins. Their constant activity and schooling behavior make them a lively addition to community aquariums.

Kyathit Danios thrive in groups and should be kept in schools of at least 6 or more to reduce stress and encourage natural behavior. A tank with open swimming space, moderate flow, and plants or décor for cover works best. When kept in proper groups, they display beautiful schooling patterns and vibrant coloration.

They readily accept high-quality flakes and small pellets but benefit from supplemental foods such as frozen or live baby brine shrimp, daphnia, and bloodworms to enhance coloration and health.
