The High Fin Banded Shark, sometimes called the High Fin Loach, is a striking freshwater fish native to rivers in China. Recognized for its tall dorsal fin and bold black-and-silver banding, this species is popular in large aquariums. Despite the name “shark,” it is actually a member of the carp family, not a true shark.

High Fin Banded Sharks are schooling fish when young but can become semi-territorial as they grow. They need very large aquariums with open swimming space and hiding spots using rocks, caves, or driftwood.
They feed on high-quality pellets, flakes, and fresh or frozen foods like bloodworms, shrimp, and vegetables. A varied diet helps maintain their bold coloration and overall health.
Important Note: This species grows quickly and requires a very large tank; it is not suitable for small aquariums.

We ship on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday via USPS Priority Mail. Once we get your order, we will ship it within 1 to 5 business days. For the safety of the animals, we do not ship aquatic life on Thursday and Friday. We do not want live aquatic animals sitting in USPS warehouse over the weekend. Thank you for your understanding.

Guaranteed to arrive alive you have one hour of delivery to report any death. You must take a picture while the fish is dead in the bag before it’s opened.
