Overview:
The Copper Axolotl is a rare and beautiful color morph featuring warm coppery-orange tones with light speckling and bright, feathery gills. Like all axolotls, it remains fully aquatic and retains its larval features for life.

Temperament: Peaceful, solitary
Size: 8–12 inches
Lifespan: 10–15 years
Tank Requirements:
Minimum 20 gallons for one (30+ preferred). Best kept alone or with same-size axolotls. Use fine sand or bare bottom—avoid gravel (impaction risk). Provide hides, low flow, and cool, stable conditions.
Water Parameters:
Temperature: 60–68°F (very important—keep cool)
pH: 6.5–7.5
Low flow, well-oxygenated water
Diet:
Carnivore. Feed earthworms (best staple), axolotl pellets, bloodworms, and occasional treats like blackworms or small pieces of shrimp.
Tank Mates:
Best kept alone. Fish may nip gills or be eaten. Other axolotls must be similar size to avoid injury.
Behavior Notes:
Slow-moving and curious. Will “stalk” food and snap it up quickly. Sensitive to heat and poor water quality.
Breeding:
Possible in captivity but requires cooling cycles and experience.

We ship on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday via USPS Priority Mail. Once we get your order, we will ship it within 1 to 5 business days. For the safety of the animals, we do not ship aquatic life on Thursday and Friday. We do not want live aquatic animals sitting in USPS warehouse over the weekend. Thank you for your understanding.
Any orders placed before 12:00 PM on Tuesday will be shipped out that same week. orders placed after 12:00 PM on Tuesday will now be processed the following week

Guaranteed to arrive alive you have one hour of delivery to report any death. You must take a picture while the fish is dead in the bag before it’s opened.
