Appearance:

Carbon Rili Shrimp feature a striking contrast of deep black (carbon) coloration on the head and tail, with a translucent or clear midsection. The “rili” pattern creates a bold segmented look that stands out in planted tanks.

Tank Requirements:

• Tank Size: 5+ gallons
• Temperature: 65–78°F
• pH: 6.5–7.8
• Water: Stable and well-established

Diet:

• Algae, biofilm, and detritus
• Supplement with shrimp pellets, algae wafers, and blanched vegetables

Behavior & Compatibility:

• Very peaceful and beginner-friendly
• Best kept in groups (6+)
• Safe with small, non-aggressive fish
• Can be mixed with other Neocaridina (may result in wild-type offspring over time)

Breeding:

• Very easy to breed in freshwater
• Females carry eggs and produce miniature shrimp
• Patterns may vary in offspring depending on genetics
