The Bushy Nose Pleco, also known as the Bristlenose Pleco, is a popular freshwater algae-eating catfish recognized for the distinctive bristle-like tentacles that grow on the noses of males. This hardy pleco is widely kept in aquariums because it stays relatively small and is excellent at helping control algae growth.

Behavior: Bushy Nose Plecos spend much of their time grazing on algae from glass, rocks, and driftwood. Males develop the characteristic bushy bristles on their nose, while females usually have few or none. They prefer aquariums with driftwood, caves, and hiding places and are most active during the evening and nighttime.
