Burmese Archer Fish (also called Smallscale Archerfish)

Quick definition:
• Scientific name: Toxotes microlepis
• Native to Myanmar (Burma), Thailand, and nearby regions
• Similar to common Archerfish but sleeker and more streamlined
• Adult size: 6–8 inches (smaller than T. jaculatrix)

Key traits:
• Famous for shooting jets of water to knock insects into the tank
• Highly intelligent and active
• Generally less aggressive than larger archerfish species
• Strong surface feeder; excellent eyesight

Water requirements:
• Juveniles: freshwater
• Adults: brackish water recommended
• More adaptable than other archerfish but still benefits from brackish conditions

Aquarium notes:
• Tank size: 40–55+ gallons
• Needs open swimming space, driftwood, and rocks
• Tight-fitting lid required (surface-oriented and jumpers)
• Diet: insects, floating pellets, frozen foods

We ship on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday via USPS Priority Mail. Once we get your order, we will ship it within 1 to 5 business days. For the safety of the animals, we do not ship aquatic life on Thursday and Friday. We do not want live aquatic animals sitting in USPS warehouse over the weekend. Thank you for your understanding.

Any orders placed before 12:00 PM on Tuesday will be shipped out that same week. orders placed after 12:00 PM on Tuesday will now be processed the following week

Guaranteed to arrive alive you have one hour of delivery to report any death. You must take a picture while the fish is dead in the bag before it’s opened.
