A unique, eel-like fish with a jet-black body and distinctive white markings on its tail. Known for its smooth, ghost-like swimming and ability to generate weak electrical signals to navigate.

Temperament: Peaceful (but territorial with its own kind)

Size: 16–20 inches

Lifespan: 10–15 years

Tank Requirements:

Minimum 100 gallons (larger preferred)

Soft sand substrate

Plenty of hiding spots (driftwood, caves, PVC tubes)

Dim lighting—prefers low light environments

Strong filtration with gentle flow

Water Parameters:

Temperature: 75–82°F

pH: 6.0–7.5

Soft to moderate hardness

Diet:

Carnivore—worms, shrimp, frozen foods, sinking pellets

Often feeds best at night

Tank Mates:

Compatible with medium to large peaceful fish

Avoid small fish—they may be eaten

Avoid aggressive tank mates

Nocturnal and shy—may hide during the day

We ship on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday via USPS Priority Mail. Once we get your order, we will ship it within 1 to 5 business days. For the safety of the animals, we do not ship aquatic life on Thursday and Friday. We do not want live aquatic animals sitting in USPS warehouse over the weekend. Thank you for your understanding.

Any orders placed before 12:00 PM on Tuesday will be shipped out that same week. orders placed after 12:00 PM on Tuesday will now be processed the following week

Guaranteed to arrive alive you have one hour of delivery to report any death. You must take a picture while the fish is dead in the bag before it’s opened.
