Pineapple Swordtail (Xiphophorus hellerii)

The Pineapple Swordtail is a vibrant and fast-moving freshwater fish known for its golden-yellow body with bright orange/red highlights and the signature long “sword” tail on males. It’s a popular choice for adding color and activity to community tanks.

• Size: 3–4 inches (males slightly smaller with sword)
• Tank Size: 20+ gallons
• Temperament: Peaceful but active
• Diet: Omnivore (flakes, pellets, veggies, frozen foods)
• Lifespan: 3–5 years

Tank Setup:

Prefers a planted aquarium with plenty of swimming space. Moderate flow and stable water conditions work best. Needs more room than platies due to higher activity.

Behavior:

Very active swimmers. Males can be slightly territorial with each other, so avoid keeping multiple males unless the tank is large.

For the safety of the animals, we do not ship aquatic life on Thursday and Friday. We do not want live aquatic animals sitting in USPS warehouse over the weekend. Thank you for your understanding.

Any orders placed before 12:00 PM on Tuesday will be shipped out that same week. orders placed after 12:00 PM on Tuesday will now be processed the following week

Guaranteed to arrive alive you have one hour of delivery to report any death. You must take a picture while the fish is dead in the bag before it’s opened.
