Silver Scat is a color form of the Scat fish characterized by a bright silver body with dark vertical bars or spots, especially noticeable in juveniles.

• Scientific name: Scatophagus argus
• Silver to silvery-white body with black markings
• Juveniles show bold stripes/spots; adults often become more solid silver
• Adult size: 10–15 inches

• Very active and hardy
• Semi-aggressive as it matures
• Omnivorous (algae, pellets, flakes, vegetables, frozen foods)

Water requirements (important):
• Juveniles: freshwater to brackish
• Adults: brackish to marine recommended
• Long-term freshwater is not ideal for adults

Aquarium notes:
• Requires a large tank (125+ gallons as adult)
• Strong filtration needed
• Prefers rocks, driftwood, and open swimming space
• Best kept with other large brackish fish

Guaranteed to arrive alive you have one hour of delivery to report any death. You must take a picture while the fish is dead in the bag before it’s opened.
