Forktail Rainbowfish (Forktail Blue-Eye)
The Forktail Rainbowfish, also known as the Forktail Blue-Eye, is a small and colorful rainbowfish known for its bright yellow fins, blue eyes, and distinctive forked tail. Native to Papua New Guinea, these fish are very active swimmers and add beautiful movement and color to planted aquariums.
Forktail Rainbowfish thrive in groups of at least 6–8 individuals. In larger schools they display their best coloration and natural behavior. Males often show brighter colors and display their fins when competing for attention.
These fish prefer aquariums with plants, driftwood, and open swimming space. Their peaceful temperament makes them excellent tank mates for other small community fish such as rasboras, tetras, dwarf gouramis, shrimp, and snails.
