Overview:

A unique, prehistoric-looking fish with a pale white/yellow body and red or pink eyes. Albino bichirs are hardy, bottom-dwelling predators with a snake-like swimming style.

Temperament: Semi-aggressive (predatory)

Size: 10–18+ inches (depends on species)

Lifespan: 10–15+ years

Tank Requirements:

Minimum 75 gallons (larger for bigger species)

Soft sand or smooth substrate

Tight-fitting lid—they are escape artists and can breathe air

Low lighting with plenty of hiding spots (driftwood, caves)

Diet:

Carnivore—sinking pellets, shrimp, fish, worms

Will eat anything that fits in its mouth

Tank Mates:

Compatible with medium to large fish (cichlids, larger tetras, catfish)

Avoid small fish—they will be eaten

Nocturnal and slow-moving

Poor eyesight—relies on smell

Can survive short periods out of water if kept moist

Any orders placed before 12:00 PM on Tuesday will be shipped out that same week. orders placed after 12:00 PM on Tuesday will now be processed the following week

Guaranteed to arrive alive you have one hour of delivery to report any death. You must take a picture while the fish is dead in the bag before it’s opened.
